100WC Week 38

After all the excitement of last week the prompt is a little more general. It is:
…but it was far too hot…
As we are nearly at the end of the year and some of you have improved so much with your writing, you may like to have a go at some speech! Still concentrate on using your most creative vocabulary and making sure your stories make sense to your readers.

Remember what you need to do:
  1. Plan, draft, edit, proof and publish your writing in the google doc I shared with you.
  2. Read it out loud to yourself and to someone else - do not publish without doing this!
  3. Put your published (not the planning or the draft) 100WC onto your blog.
  4. Put a link to that writing in the comment section under this post.
  5. Go to the 100WC website and link your writing for the week.
  6. Come back and leave a constructive comment on at least 3 other students 100WC,

100 WC Star of the Week!

Awesome piece of writing below - Olivia K is setting the standard!

The overpowering blare of sirens deafened my already exhausted ears. As I drove up to the mysterious object, I was overpowered by a familiar smell as it wafted into my flared nostrils. I got a closer look. I was stunned. I couldn't believe it. It was an egg. In fact it was a giant egg. I slid on my over sized police jacket and trudged along to the huge, cocoa sphere. I was greeted by some lackadaisical, emotionless colleagues. My eyes intensively studied the problematic egg. I was suddenly brought to an abrupt stop. Even words couldn’t explain what I saw.

100 WC

For this week’s prompt, we have got another of those wonderful ‘LittlePeople’ photos from the talented Jane Hewitt. Do take a look at her amazing book ‘Learning Through a Lens’ for some more ideas of using photography in the classroom.

Before you start, you will have to make some decisions about what is real size and that will then influence your story! Make sure you really think imaginatively. Choose your 100 words carefully and make sure you pay some attention to your punctuation. Many of you have been taking part for a few months now so your writing will be getting better!

Digital Citizenship

Next week you will be completing a task in class - the task is below. Between now and next week it might be a good idea to ensure you have a good understanding of what is required and also do a little research if you aren't sure. The more time you put into this the easier it will be and the better your grade will be.
